Who we are
BiP was established in 1984 to facilitate business between the public and private sectors. What began with the printing of contracts information has since evolved into a portfolio of innovative services that add real value to supply chains. If your organisation is buying for or supplying to the public sector – whether directly or indirectly – we’re here to help.
What we do
We provide the tools that buyers and suppliers need to engage more effectively with one another. These include services that provide details of contract opportunities and other market intelligence, electronic systems that support efficient and effective tendering, consultancy services, training and development and events. BiP is at the centre of buyer and supplier relationships; driving efficiency, building capacity and ensuring value for money.

BiP’s Business Intelligence services provide customers with accurate, relevant and timely information on new contract opportunities from the public and private sectors, as well as the latest news from government and industry. Our Tracker, Contrax, Defence Contracts International (DCI), Defence Contracts Bulletin (MOD DCB) and Market Monitor services keep thousands of businesses ahead of their competitors every day, with the latest tenders and intelligence sent direct.
eSourcing
BiP’s eSourcing services enable efficient, effective and compliant procurement. In use by thousands of public sector buyers every day, BiP’s Project e-notice, aXcess e-auction and buyer profile, Vault secure document exchange and Select accreditation services can be used independently; or combined to form the Delta electronic tendering suite (Delta ets) for an end to end solution. In challenging times, our eSourcing services deliver transparency, compliance and value for money.
Consultancy Services
With over 25 years’ experience BiP has the in-depth knowledge of procurement that all sizes and types of public and private sector organisation rely upon. Our Procurement Advice and Support Service (PASS) consultants are renowned for the quality of their advice and their ability to identify risks and opportunities. BiP’s expertise has led to consulting on major procurement-related projects; from capacity building to reform and monitoring programmes.
Training & Development
BiP is renowned for the quality, relevance and accessibility of its training programs. Our Procurement Advice and Support Service (PASS) consultants are experts in all aspects of buying for and supplying to the public sector, and advise every type of organisation on how to act effectively and compliantly. Whether delivered at our clients’ premises or via our workshops and seminars, BiP’s training is effective in increasing knowledge and awareness of current and future procurement issues.
Conferences & Events
BiP is a leading organiser of conferences and events for the procurement and supply chain sector. From national events such as Procurex and Procurex Scotland to regional or local buyer and supplier workshops and Awards ceremonies, BiP caters for every type of organisation and delegate. BiP manages major conferences on behalf of the public sector, all with the aim of bring buyers and suppliers together.
IT Services and Solutions
BiP pioneered the use of web-based solutions to enable more effective and efficient procurement. We offer a comprehensive range of services from the development and secure hosting of websites to the provision of software solutions for government departments. Our in-house IT development, design and support teams ensure robust, high-quality and innovative solutions to the challenges our clients face.
